If you want to go to the Performing Arts stages at Pennsic and say “Hey! I know that performer!” then feast your eyes on this list of your fellow Atlantians and their performance days and times!

Music

  • Bardic Music Expo – Monday August 8 from 1:00-4:00 – many Atlantians have slots including Lord Johann von Solothurn, Lady Scholastica Joycours, and Dragonsong!
  • Mistress Rosalind Jehanne in concert: Sunday August 7 at 5:30pm “A Little Knight Music” Mistress Rosalind Jehanne and Master John Lyttleton present songs of chivalry, humor, and nobility, accompanied by good friends.  *Some Material may be inappropriate for children under 12
  • Master Efenwealt Wystle and Mistress Aénor d’Anjou in concert: Sunday 8:00pm – For over 25 years these loopy Laurels have been making musical magic with their mix of medieval melodies, bawdy ballads, terpsichorean tirades and sundry songs for SCAdians. Join in the fun for their annual Pennsic concert! *Some material may be inappropriate for children under 12.*
  • Bardic Exposition: Monday 1:00 – 4:00pm Master Efenwealt Wystle presiding over a smorgasbord of Pennsic Bards!
  • Atlantia Queen’s Bardic Circle – for everyone! Middle Sunday, August 7, starting at 8:00pm in Atlantia Royal Camp. Hosted by her Majesty, coordinated by Lady Scholastica Joycors.
  • Camp Southwind Bardic Night – Monday August 8 starting at dusk
  • Master Efenwealt comedy music halfhour — Monday at 6:30 at the Amphitheater, opening for the “Who’s Line Doth It Be” show where you may see more Atlantians performing improv comedy!

Storytelling

  • Mar Yaakov HaMizrachi performs “The Book of Delight” Monday August 8 at 8:00 – 9:00pm in the PAT – Tah Sh’ma! Come and hear!  Storyteller Mar Yaakov HaMizrachi in performance of his reconstruction of the period work “The Book of Delight” by Yosef ben Meir Ibn Zabara.  Zabara wrote this classic work of folk tales in about the year 1200 in Toledo, Spain.  Hear how a clever fox seeks to trick a foolish leopard to his doom! Only the leopard’s wise wife stands between our Well Meaning but Foolish Hero and his certain death! In this contest of wit between a loving wife and a cunning foe, whose cleverness shall prevail?

Commedia dell’ Arte

  • Iron Commedia show: Friday August 5 at 5:00pm – Directed by Lady Avalina del Dolce, Lord Derek le Gard, Lord Manus MacDhai, and Lady Sophia the Orange
  • I Verdi Confusi Commedia show: Saturday August 6 at 9:00pm – performances by Lord Manus MacDhai and Lady Sophia the Orange
  • Commedia Expo: Sunday August 7 at 2:00pm – Performances by Lady Avalina del Dolce, Lord Derek le Gard, more from Vagando Stolti, Lord Manus MacDhai, Lady Sophia the Orange, and possibly more!
  • Pennsic Commedia All Stars show: Thursday August 11 at 9:30pm – Directed by Lady Sophia the Orange with performances by Lady Avalina del Dolce, Lord Derek le Gard, Lord Manus MacDhai, Lady Genefa Wolfelin, and Lady Tessa Despina!

OTHER

Pennsic Fools’ Parade – for everyone! Tuesday August 9 at 3:00 pm starting at the Bath house. Lead by Lady Sophia the Orange.

Children’s Fete – Wednesday August 10 from 12:00pm – 3:00pm. Performers organized by Lord Richard Wyn! Performers that are often seen there include Fevronia and Igor, Deridre o’Bardhan, and sometimes that Spare Time Fool, Efenwealt!

The Atlantia Kingdom Art and Sciences Festival 2016 hosted an amazing extravaganza for Performing Arts!  No less than 26 performers showed the populace of Atlantia a Demo Hour of the many ways Performing Arts shows up in the SCA, and the hour before that was filled with impressive performances from groups and soloists!

  • Dragonsong, a world music band from northern Atlantia, plays a concert on Friday 7/31, from 10:00 – 11:30pm, on the Performing Arts Tent stage.
  • Lady Scholastica co-hosts the Open Stage Shakespeare Night on the Green, Saturday, 8/2, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, at the Amphitheater
  • Lady Sophia the Orange and Lord Manus MacDhai perform with the i Verdi Confusi commedia troupe in “The Courtesan’s Discount Bed” on Saturday night, 9:00 – 10:30 pm, on the Performing Arts Tent stage.

  • Lord Johann von Solothurn, Atlantia’s Kingdom Bard, leads the Atlantia Bardic Circle (also a join in below) on Wednesday, 8/5, from 7:00 – 9:00pm in Atlantia Royal Camp!
  • Lady Sophia the Orange directs the Iron Commedia performance at 7:00pm on the Amphitheater stage.
  • Lady Sophia the Orange directs and Manus MacDhai, Genefa Wolfelin, Avalina del Dolce, Derek le Garde, and J. Conrad Muni star in the Pennsic Commedia All Stars troupe second annual production of a play produced entirely at Pennsic! Show begins at 9:30pm on Thursday 8/6 on the Performing Arts Tent Stage. (Other Atlantians may be seen on the stage portraying very sneaky pirates!)
  • Mistress Dervila presents A Cycle of Norse Myths, from the Creation of the World to Ragnarok, on Friday, 8/7, from 6:00 – 7:30pm on the Performing Arts Tent stage

    • Sing We and Chant it – Madrigal and A Capella Jam with optional join in rehearsals on Friday and Sunday – Performance on Monday 8/3, 6:00 – 7:30 pm on the Performing Arts Tent stage

Please come help STRIKE THE STAGE on Friday night 8/7 at 10:00pm, after the last performance! It’s always a hard time to find people still awake and willing to turn a screwdriver to help pull everything down. If you trod the boards anywhere at Pennsic, please pitch in and help us strike the set on Friday night!
